I once read on a website that a nice guy is an equivalent to a fat chick. If you really think about it, this statement reflects the reality to a large extent. I mean, how many times have you seen a girl leaving a nice guy for a badass dude? A lot of times would be an understatement. While sailing through random YouTube videos, I bumped into one of the scenes from Twilight: New Moon.

I couldn’t stop laughing while watching that scene, and it was not a good thing because that scene was supposed to be a romantic moment between our Barbie doll Bella, and blood sucking Edward. I just thought of writing a little variant of that scene, which is kind of close to the reality.

Twilight, Edward Cullen

Edward: O Bella! I love you so much!

Bella: I love you, too, my blood sucking pest. But you won’t want me when I’ll look like a grandma.

Edward: O Bella! My love is so immortal that I will love you even when you’ll have a beard and will weigh 200 pounds.

Bella: Aaww.. that’s like the sweetest thing someone has said to me.

Edward: My love is totally emotional, Bella. I don’t lust after your body, try to understand my love.

Bella: Aaw… wait what?

Edward: What?

Bella: What do you mean you don’t lust for my body?

Edward: I mean..

Bella: You think I’m fat, don’t you?

Edward: No, I didn’t mean that.

Bella: You did, you shit face. I can’t believe you are so insensitive. I work so hard for keeping these two babies in shape, and you don’t even look, let alone touch them.

Edward: Don’t cry Bella..

Bella: Fuck you! You don’t know how much trouble I go through to keep myself in shape. Just last week, I did three jobs in one day. Nose, boobs and lips.

Edward: What?

Bella: When I try to kiss you, you push me away.

Edward: I don’t want to take advantage of you, Bella. I love you.

Bella: Love my ass. Wait, you don’t even love that. Have you ever wondered why there are more fans of Team Jacob than Team Edward on Twitter, IMDB, and Facebook?

Edward: Why?

Bella: Because he’s man enough to grab these things.

Edward: I’m not like him, I’m different.

Bella: Yeah, you are. 108 year old virgin. They should make a movie on you.

Edward: You’re hurting my feelings, Bella. But I still love you.

Bella: You know what your problem is? You’re still stuck in the 1890s. Today is the age of Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy. They tell young girls to suck lollipop, and I’m trying to suck yours, but you won’t give me a chance. That’s totally feminist. You’re such a jerk.

Edward starts crying

Jacob enters

Jacob: Whad up ma bitch?

Bella: See Edward, these are some manners. That’s what I call a gentleman. I’m fine, my dear. How are you?

Jacob: I’mmaa rollin’ with ma homies. Why is this pussy crying?

Bella: Becoz that’s what he is. A man with a V, in place of a D and 2 Bs.

Jacob: That sucks bro. U read my book, k? It’s called “100 ways to show a feminist her place and also get laid”. It’s ill man, it’s ill.

Bella: Don’t waste your time on him. His favourite movie is, “The Notebook”.

Jacob laughs

Jacob: U a gone case, my friend. Girls don’t love that shit. They love pimpin, rollin with homies. Girls like to have fun, you know?

Bella: I like it when you are without your shirt, Jacob.

Jacob: I know you do, babe. So, wanna ride with your pimp?

Bella: O yes! You are so hot. But promise me you’ll sing a song for me.

Jacob: Which one?

Bella: I wanna Fuck you. But not I wanna Love you version. That version is for gays like Edward.

Jacob: Alright, biatch. Let’s go.

Edward: O Bella!! Don’t leave me. You are my world, you are my love.

Bella shows him the middle finger.

If only Edward knew that “I wanna tap that ass” was the right response, Bella would have been cleaning and cooking for him. But now he is crying in his room, alone.

With a marvelous soundtrack of My Name is Khan behind them, Shankar Ehsaan Loy are back again. This time it’s Karthik Calling Karthik. The movie stars Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone in the lead. The soundtrack of Karthik Calling Karthik consists of 9 tracks, out of which 6 are originals and 3 are remixes. Let’s get down to Karthik Calling Karthik music review.

Karthik Calling Karthik Music Review

1. Hey Ya!

The soundtrack opens with the melodius Hey Ya! This song is a chartbuster from the word go, especially with the college going junta aka Youngistan. Melody is so catchy that you’ll keep Hey Ya! on loop in your media player or iPod. It’s been sung by the trio of Clinton Cerejo, Shankar Mahadevan and Loy Mendonsa. English lyrics blend perfectly with the hindi ones. Hey Ya! is sheer brilliance!

2. Uff Teri Adaa

Shankar Ehsaan Loy keeps the magic going with Uff Teri Adaa. A perfect number for clubs, Uff Teri Adaa is another chartbuster. Music video is out and Deepika looks stunning in that. Uff Teri Adaa kind of belongs to trance genre but with a desi touch. Shankar Mahadevan is behind the mic, but with Alyssa Mendonsa. This song keeps on becoming awesome with each listen. Don’t miss this one!

3. Jaane ye Kya Hua Hai

With Jaane Ye Kya Hua, we are kind of back in Wake Up Sid universe, and it’s not a bad thing! Another college campus song, Jaane Ye Kya Hua could have been an average affair but thanks to KK, it’s not. Javed Akhtar shows his magic again with his lyrics. Just chill out with your partner and listen to this one.

4. Kaisi Hai Ye Udaasi

The soundtrack takes a detour with Kaisi Hai Ye Udaasi. To be honest, this song sounds out of place, but I’m not saying it is a bad song. It’s very good, and Kailash Kher and Sukanya Purayastha have sung it beautifully. It’s definitely a background song. I just hope that they don’t make it melo-dramatic in the movie.

5. Karthik Calling Karthik

Another background song, I’m really not sure what to think of Karthik Calling Karthik. This song is a grower, for sure. Tempo is slow, and it gives you a mysterious feel.

6. Karthik 2.0

With Karthik 2.0, we are back in business. This time it’s the Midival Punditz who are creating the magic. I still remember their version of Don, one of my favorites. Filled with guitar riffs, Karthik 2.0 is mind-blowing.

Final Verdict

I was really hoping that Farhan Akhtar would sing at least one song in the soundtrack because his voice is really suitable for this youthful album. But, he’s not in the list. Anyway, Karhik Calling Karthik’s music is made for the young generation, and it’ll certainly appeal to them. Length of most of the songs is around 4 minutes, except Kaisi Hai Ye Udaasi.

With Hey Ya! and Uff Teri Adaa, Shankar Ehsaan Loy have two big chartbusters in their hands. After My Name is Khan, the trio has proved again why they’re one of the best in the music business right now. Go out and buy the CD of Karthik Calling Karthik!

If I didn’t have a passion to write reviews on this blog and some extra cash, I would have never got out of my home to watch Pyaar Impossible in this weather. Seriously, what was I thinking? I guess we all make mistakes. Anyway, coming back to the review, Pyaar Impossible stars Priyanka Chopra and Uday Chopra, who also wrote the script. Directed by Jugal Hansraj, this movie is one big yawn.

Pyaar Impossible Movie Review

Story

The story of movie revolves around the life of Abhay, played by Uday, who is your average geek in college and not so surprisingly, in love with the hottest girl in college, Alisha (Priyanka Chopra). But, he is not able to confess it because Alisha’s dad makes her leave the college and come back to India.

7 years forward, Abhay is still in love with her but he has made a unique operating system which can run all the operating systems in the world. XP, Vista, Linux, Mac etc, you name it, he has it. Good thing for the geeks if it was real. But, his software is stolen by Dino Morea. And thus, begins his journey to get his software back. On his journey, he also meets Alisha again. Will he find his true love? Not hard to predict.

Technical Department

First things first, this movie is filled with clichés. Jugal Hansraj clearly doesn’t have an eye for details. And as a result of this, we are stuck with a depressing love story which could have been much better. And this brings me back to my next point. I don’t know if it’s me only, but, in my opinion, this movie could have been much much better and refreshing if the writer, Uday Chopra, had done some homework. Or probably, he had given this story to some good writer. Writing is totally juvenile with only couple of scenes which bring a smile to your face. Moreover, it’s highly predictable.

One more thing, why does it always happen that if you want to show a popular girl in college then she has to be a rockstar? Why can’t she be a chess player or a debater? Can’t it be beauty with brains? But, I think there is no glamour in being a chess player or a debater.

Music, I’ve to say, is really good. The duo of Salim-Sulaiman has done a wonderful job by giving some peppy tunes, which will be with you even after leaving the cinema. I recommend you to buy the CD now, but we know how you’re going to get the songs. Cinematography was nice

Acting Department

Let’s start the acting department with Priyanka Chopra. She was top notch, to say the least. Very natural and confident. But, I’ve to comment on her dresses. I wonder if her character wears any normal clothes like we do and especially, since she is a divorced mother. Don’t worry about spoiler, it’s hardly any. Mini skirts and showing cleavage in office. I also wonder if there is any dress code in the offices of Singapore, coz if there isn’t, then I’m applying for a job in Singapore straight away. She was looking really really hot. Gorgeous at its best.

And, then we have Uday Chopra. I’ve to be honest here, you don’t have any acting skill. I think you’re lucky that you have your own production company and a brother who is ready to spend money on you while, there are many talented writers and actors never get a break

Anupam Kher and Dino Morea in their supporting roles were ok. Nothing special. And what’s the deal with Alisha’s daughter? She doesn’t look 6 at all and is annoying.

Final Verdict

If there is one reason to watch Pyaar Impossible then it’s Priyanka Chopra. I bet guys are going to love it. Watching her on big screen is a delight and I don’t think she has looked this gorgeous in any other movie. So guys, check it out, but only if some fool are paying for your ticket. As for the girls, they are stuck with Uday Chopra, who shouldn’t come on the big screen, unless it’s Dhoom 3.

Some love stories have the charm to capture your attention within 1 minute and to hook you till the end. But, this movie is nothing like that. And, as far as the hit status for Pyaar Impossibe is concerned, it is anything but possible.

I don’t think there is anything like waking up to find that soundtrack of the most awaited movie of 2010, My Name is Khan, is out. Composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, this album consists of 6 tracks, without any remixes! Yeah, that’s 1 point from the very beginning. Good start! Let’s get to the review.

My Name Is Khan music review

1. Sajda

The soundtrack starts with a soulful sufi number, Sajda, rendered beautifully by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan, and Richa Sharma. Lyrics are beautifully written by Niranjan Iyengar. It’s one of those type of songs, which you would like to listen by closing your eyes to give yourself some peace. It’s definitely a situational song, no doubt about that. During the first listen, it may come out to be an ordinary song to some people but listen to it again and pay attention to the lyrics, you’ll find the magic!

2. Noor E Khuda

After a melodious Sajda, next comes Noor E Khuda. Many of you may remember this song from the trailer of My Name is Khan. Noor E Khuda has been sung by Adnan Sami, Shankar Mahadevan, and Shreya Ghoshal. To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect when I read Adnan’s same on the tracklist. But, he turns out to be the show stealer here. His voice provides the soothing feel to the song which is required. Shreya Ghoshal is at her usually best. Oh, did I mention how good is the chorus? Yeah, it’s awesome! Lyrics are again brilliant. Another touch of genius, I say!

3. Tere Naina

You must be wondering, it’s a Karan Johar film with Shah Rukh Khan, how come there is no romantic song? Well, your wait is over. But, I must say that it’s not your typical KJO romantic number. It’s a background song and yes, it’sufi, beautifully sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali. Man, this album is on a roll till now.

4. Allah Hi Rahem

After a beautiful romantic number, we are again back to singing praises of God, which is a good thing, by the way. Another awesome background song, with sufi touch. Off topic, I think everyone should listen to this song once a day. I mean, how many of us really remember the good Lord? It’s a good way to do that, no? If you’re an atheist then you can pretend not to listen to the beautiful lyrics in the name of God. And, I think I forgot the mention the name of the singer, it’s Rashid Khan.

5. Khan Theme

I think many of you will be able to guess that it’s an instrumental piece. It’s a good one and I think it’ll be used a lot in the movie.

6. Rang De

Rang De brings us back to SEL’s rock roots. Mixing rock and sufi is always a good choice. Guitar riffs at the starting of the song kind of reminds me of Rock On. Shankar Mahadevan, and Suraj Jagan take the mic to sing Rang De. I think chorus could have been a little better but that’s ok. Rest of the song is rocking, especially the bridge.

Verdict

My Name is Khan is an important film for everyone involved in this and not to forget, Bollywood. As it’s a getting a big release by Fox Searclight, this can be the perfect opportunity to make our cinema global. The soundtrack is a complete detour for Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Karan Johar. Every song is a situational song and all of them have a sufi touch. This soundtrack has raised my hopes for the movie. If you’re tired of listening to total commerical remixes with stupid remixes and want to listen to something meaningful, then My Name is Khan is your choice. Moreover, I think this can be a good gift for your parents as most of the album is in the name of God. They like to listen to such stuff, just kidding.

Anyway, the soundtrack of My Name is Khan is remarkable. And, it’s a must in everyone’s collection. A brave and honest effort, which should be applauded.

***********************************************************

Ok, the wait has finally ended. The trailer of one of the most anticipated movies of all time in Bollywood, My Name is Khan, has finally arrived. To be honest, I don’t have any words to tell how good the trailer is. Shahrukh Khan is amazing, probably the best role of his career. Kajol is lovely. My Name is Khan has a total international feel. Watch the trailer yourself.

Rocket Singh is the smartest and best film of 2009 along with Kaminey, without a doubt. Starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead and made by the combo of Shimit Amin and Jaideep Sahni, Rocket Singh deserves all the praises in the world.

Rocket Singh

Rocket Singh is a film about college pass out Harpreet Singh Bedi who was just an average student in college. Not finding any suitable options in further studies, he decides to pursue his career in sales. But, things were not the way he expected. Corruption, bribes, hard competition between the staff, a frustrated guy as his senior, and a corrupt boss, that job turned out to be his worst nightmare. He then decides not to give up on his dream and fight the system and thus begins the journey of Rocket Singh. I won’t give too much story as I want you guys to really enjoy it.

Let’s start reviewing the technical department first. Shimit Amin is a genius, no doubts about that. After Ab Tak Chappan and Chak De India, he is back with a bang! He captures your attention so beautifully that you won’t be able to think about anything else while watching the movie. He sets the tone of the film and shows the corporate world very realistically and that’s why the film works. And, we certainly can’t ignore his partner, Jaideep Sahni for writing such a wonderful script. Filled with many subtle comic moments and such a powerful drama, it is a perfect hybridization of both genres.

There are so many powerful scenes such as Harpreet’s interview, conversation between him, his boss, and the client where his boss insults him and the climax; all 3 probably the best scenes of the year. TWO BIG THUMBS UP!

Background score is really nice by Salim-Sulaiman. Cinematography is also awesome.

Ranbir Kapoor is awesome and as I said before, the only actor of current generation who knows the art of acting. He sinks in the character fully and delivers a powerful performance. It’s definitely on of his best.

But, for the first time, he is not able to steal the show. This time, it is the supporting cast which steals the show. Thanks to Yash Raj, there is no correct information available about the supporting cast on net, so I will update the post with correct names and their characters.

But, there is one character Nitin, Harpreet’s senior, his performance was mind blowing. He takes the whole movie from Ranbir. Other performances were also good and especially Prem Chopra, I liked him after a long time in a movie.

Final Verdict

Rocket Singh is such a powerful film that it is a must watch for everyone, especially for the multiplex audience. If you love no-brainers and can’t digest smart and realistic films then stay away from this one. And don’t go to watch this movie in hopes of a total comedy coz it’s not. There are so many moments which are really cruel. They’ll probably remind you of your own office life. Rocket Singh belongs to two people; Shimit Amin and Jaideep Sahni. They are the heroes of this film. It’s such a pity that the promotions of this movie started so late.

Rocket Singh is the top contender for best film of 2009 award with Kaminey. And with Three Idiots releasing, too, battle for Best Film award is really tough this year. We can’t forget Dev.D, Wake Up Sid, Paa, and Kurbaan which are also strong contenders. I just can’t wait for the nominations this year. Best year of the decade for Bollywood, hands down.

After the success of Wake Up Sid, Dharma Productions are back with a new movie, Kurbaan starring Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi. Kurbaan has an intersting plot and even more interesting poster. You can’t deny it, can you? Well, we are here to talk about the soundtrack of the movie. There are total 6 songs out of which 5 are originals and 1 is remix. Let’s get down to the review.

Kurbaan Music Review

1. Shukran Allah – The very first song of the album is a really nice romantic number featuring Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. Saleem is on the chorus. If you’ve loved songs like Teri Ore, Khduaya Ve etc then you’ll love this. The beat pattern is quite similar to Teri Ore. But, I’m not complaining. Lyrics are typical romantic, nothing new except the title words, of course.

2. Dua – After a very nice romantic number, Salim-Sulaiman gives Dua with an interesting combo of Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher. The music is pretty much average and I don’t like the english verse in the song. Both the singers are good as usual.

3. Ali Maula – Ali Maula, performed by Salim Merchant is a situational song. Well, the song contains lots of urdu words which give the song a unique feel. It’s not meant to be an entertaining song. It’s much more along the lines of “Maula mere lele meri jaan” of Chak De India. It’ll sound pretty good as background score in the movie. Thumbs up!

4. Rasiya – Rasiya is another situational song and has a very mysterious feel to it. Performed beautifully by Shruti Pathak, Rasiya will take you to a whole new world if you listen to it with your eyes closed. If used right, it can be really haunting during the movie.

5. Kurbaan Hua – Here’s the show stopper of the album. Typical a rock number which very suit Vishal Dadlani’s voice, this song is going to be a chart topper. Their last effort, Nazara Hai of 8 x 10 Tasveer went unnoticed though it was a very good song but this will definitely be on everyone’s lips. The chorus is mindblowing, simply amazing. Kudos to Vishal for singing it so beautifully. Two thumbs up!

After last year’s hit, Fashion, Madhur Bhandarkar is back with his latest feature film, Jail, starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mughda Ghodse. The film will release on Novermber 6th, 2009. Let’s get straight to the music review. The album comprises of 8 tracks, out of which 4 are original and 4 are remixes. We’ll talk only about originals.

Jail Music Review

1. Sainya Ve

The song starts with a strong guitar intro with Toshi on the vocals. Music is by the duo Sharib and Toshi and they have also written the lyrics. The song has nothing special about it and moreover, you’ll get the vibe of “Maahi Ve” of Raaz 2 during the song. Beat is ordinary and so are the lyrics. Nothing innovative.

2. Milke Yun Laga

Milke Yun Laga has been also composed by Sharib and Toshi but this time, it’s Sharib on the vocals. This song is better than Sainya Ve; both in terms of music and lyrics. Just like Sainya Ve, guitar is the important component of the song. But, the beat is worth listening this time. But, it’s not upto the standards of today’s songs like Dhan Te Nan or any Pritam number.

3. Bareily Ke Bazaar Mein

After two tracks by Sharib and Toshi, Bareily Ke Bazaar mein has been composed by Shamir Tandon. As you can get an idea from the title, this is a song which might have worked like 10 years or something but this is an utter disappointment. I don’t even think this song will look good as a situational song. The only saving grace can be the male’s voice in the song as it gives a raw touch but everthing else is unpalatable.

4. Daata Sun Le

Wow, hearing a song from Lata Mangeshkar is such a nice surprise! Daata Sun Le works only for one reason, Lata Mangeshkar. This song has a lot of potential but the mediocrity of the composer, Shamir Tandon, can’t take the advantage of Lata’s voice. You give the same song to A.R. Rahman, Salim-Sulaiman, Amit Trivedi or SEL, you have a masterpiece in your hand. Lyrics are touching but as I said earlier, music is really average.

A song creates magic when Lyrics, Music and Singer’s voice compliment each other which is clearly not happening in this case. A lost opportunity!

Final Verdict

On the whole, the soundtrack of Jail is a disappointment. Madhur should have sticked to Salim-Sulaiman. But, if we go by the subject of the film, I don’t think movie needs a song anyway. If they are using these songs as background music then they are in trouble. Only Daata Sun Le has some chance to catch your attention otherwise every song is unpalatable. Better luck next time.

3. Are you a loser on the internet? – So, do you think you’re one? Is it difficult to answer? Read the post to find out.

4. Dil Bole Hadippa – Is it the worst movie ever made?
***********************************************************

[digg=http://digg.com/music/Jail_Music_Review]

Let me first start by saying that Wake Up Sid is the best film of 2009, with Kaminey. It’s a movie with a big heart and works because of its simplicity.

Wake Up Sid

The story of the movie is about a college student, Sid, played by Ranbir Kapoor, who is simply careless about everything, from studies to relationships to his own future. This is because his dad (Anupam Kher) is a rich businessman who gives Sid more than enough money to spend. After giving his final exams, Sid tries to go to office but leaves that, too, within a week.

The story of Aisha (Konkana Sen Sharma) is going on with his story. Aisha is a girl from Kolkata who came to Mumbai to make her dream true of being a writer and to be independent. Both of them meet in a party and soon become friends. But, when the result of Sid comes out, things go awry. He leaves his home and starts living with Aisha, and this follows the tale of the waking up of Sid.

Technical Stuff

The director of the movie, Ayan Mukerji, who is a debutant, makes a great impact with his strong story telling talent. His script is really good and filled with humour. One thing which goes with the script is that it is not too preachy. It says what it wants to say very subtly. Direction is top class. But, the second part lacks pace while first half is pure awesomeness.

The most important thing which goes with the movie is its relativity. It doesn’t matter if you are a 20 year old guy or 60 year old uncle, you can relate to Sid mainly because you might have experienced the same thing during your time, too. Wake Up Sid is a very realistic movie and it shows the attitude of the youth very clearly. Scenes are very powerful and the one which involves the confrontation of Anupam Kher and Ranbir Kapoor is pure class!

Music is too good. I know a lot of people were complaining about music being too ordinary, but when you listen to the songs as background score (another master stroke by the director), you’ll love every song. The ones that stand out are “Iktara” and “Wake Up Sid”. Kudos to Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Amit Trivedi.

Cinematography is really good and so is the editing.

Acting Department

Now let’s come to the acting department. First things first, out of all the new age actors, only Ranbir Kapoor knows the art of acting. He’s so natural and there is no way you can’t relate to the character he portrayed. You can see the dilemma he is going through and he totally sucks you into his world. Well done, Ranbir! I’m really looking forward to the nominations this year.

Konkana Sen Sharma is as usual great but she somewhat reminded me of her performance of Luck By Chance. There was not much difference between the two, apart from the looks. But, nevertheless, a great performance.

On the supporting cast, Anupam Kher and Supriya Pathak (mother of Sid) shines. It’s really nice to see Anupam Kher doing a good role after the disastrous Dil Bole Hadippa. Rahul Khanna as Konkana’s boss has done a good job.

Final Verdict

Wake Up Sid sets another example for the new age cinema of Bollywood. Undoubtedly, it’s a film which will score big time with the college audience. It has its heart at the right place. Second part could have better as it took a lot of time to come to the final point. Ranbir Kapoor is top notch and so is Konkana. Ayan has a bright future in the industry. As for you people, please go and watch this movie. Bunk college, school or whatever, just watch it. And who knows, Wake Up Sid may become a wake up call for you.

Rating –

Cast – Ranbir Kapoor, Konkana Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher

Music Director – Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Amit Trivedi

Movie Director – Ayan Mukerji

Oh boy! It was an experience in itself to watch Dil Bole Hadippa. I don’t know what to write for this movie and I don’t even know if there should be a review for this movie. I mean seriously, what the hell were the makers thinking?

Dil Bole Hadippa

Story

Before giving my review, here is a little bit story and don’t worry spoilers because this movie doesn’t have any as it is predictable from the very beginning. The story revolves around a Punjabi girl Veera Kaur who has a dream to play for India in Cricket at international level. I don’t exactly know where she lives because sometimes they mention Amritsar but on the other hand, they are showing a village and Amritsar is not a village.

Now, there is a friendship between Vicky (Anupam Kher) who is an Indian and Lucky (Dilip Tahil) who is a Pakistani. They hold a cricket match between Indian Tigers and Pakistani Champions annually to celebrate their old friendship. The only problem is that Indian Tigers have been losing from the past 8 years. Therefore, Vicky calls his son Rohan (Shahid Kapoor) from England, who is the captain of a county team, to train the team.

Veera learns about the selection of the team and decides to enter but couldn’t as she is a girl. Therefore, she becomes a boy by putting on beard and gets selected in the team. The rest you can imagine, India winning in the end, romance between Shahid and Rani and the usual blah blah.

Technical Department

Before coming to anything, let me talk about the script. It is filled with so BIG loopholes that even an elephant can get into them, symbolically. Songs are coming out of nowhere, cheesy dialogues, same old GIRL VS BOY fight, girl can do anything and all that blah stuff. It’s not that I’m against it but you’ve to watch the movie to believe how ridiculous they’ve made it.

The first scene of the movie starts with this topic. Then there is old India Pakistan rivalry and friendship. Also, there is the captain in which you can see Kabir Khan of Chak De India. Jaya, Aparajita take a bow.

Here’s a sample. When Veera tries to enter the selection camp, security guard asks her to return home and tell the guys standing there “Jis din is gaun ki ladkion ne cricket khelna shuru kar diya, us din tum choodian pehan lena”. And then there is a crowd of followers of some Goddess pass in front of them and everyone starts praying.

To which Veera replies “Vaah, moorti ke saamne jhuk jaate ho par asli zindagi mein usi aurat ko kuchal dete ho”. Of Course, it was not the exact dialogue as I don’t remember the exact words but its meaning was the same as the dialogue above.

Now, let me come to the director, Anurag Singh. Dude, honestly, you should retire from directing movies and start doing something else. You don’t have 1 percent talent in direction and it would be better for you and for us, if you start doing something else. No wonder many portions have been re-shot of this movie. I wonder what this movie would have been without re-shots.

Music is ok and cinematography is nice. Locations of Punjab have been well captured.

Performances by Actors

Shahid Kapoor: To be very frank, I never considered Shahid a good actor till Kaminey. After Kaminey, my respect for him increased manifold but after watching this, it has come down to previous level. During his captain’s role, he looks exactly like SRK in CDI. The way of talking, talking to other teammates, it was like watching Kabir Khan Part 2. And if it was not enough, he even comes up on stage as SRK of DDLJ (complain the script writers and the director).

And in the rest of the part, he is just Shahid Kapoor. He doesn’t look like Rohan from any angle. He has not done anything in characterization of Rohan. You take his role in Kismat Konnection and this one and compare them. You won’t find a single difference between two characters. They react the same way, walk the same way, attitude is same. This shouldn’t be there because the circumstances, financial conditions, everything is different.

Kudos to Vishal Bhardawaj for making him do acting in Kaminey. I think most of the work on character was done by Vishal only.

Rani Mukerji: Dil Bole Hadippa is supposed to be the comeback movie of Rani. I think, in the whole crew, she is the only one who has done some effort to make the movie work. Her role as Veer Pratap Singh is worth an applause.

But darling, start choosing some better films otherwise it won’t be too long for you to disappear like other actresses. Try doing something out of Yash Raj Camp.

Supporting Cast: Anupam Kher was his usual. Rakhi Sawant did her role of an actress without any conviction. I want to ask one thing to the producers and the director, what the hell was Sherlyn Chopra doing in the movie? Was she there only to show boobs and hot legs? Jesus! I never expected such thing coming out of Yash Raj camp.

Final Verdict

Many people walked off when India won the match in the end. To be honest, I envy those people as they saved themselves from the most tormented scene in the movie. The last 2-3 minute speech by Rani which felt like 2 hours and by the end of which, captain of Pakistani team started clapping. She asks one question, “Why can’t a woman play with Sachin if she plays as good as men?”

Here’s the answer darling; because it’s a Men’s team for god sake. Whoever came up with this dialogue should be thrown out of Bollywood.

I recommend you to not to waste time and money on this. Save your money for What’s Your Raashee which will be releasing next week.

In fact, this movie is so bad that not even a single woman clapped during the movie. Even women rights activists would be ashamed of this one.

In short; Dil Bole Hadippa = Wannabe Chak De India + Wannabe She’s the man + Wannabe DDLJ + Wannabe Indo Pak movie + Wannabe Women rights movie.
