Incident triggers shock and outrage in Haryana’s Bass village; motive yet to be ascertained

In a shocking and tragic incident, the director of a private school was stabbed to death by two Class 12 students on Thursday at Kartar Memorial Public School located in Bass village, under Narnaund subdivision of Hissar district.
The victim, Jagbir Pannu, sustained multiple stab wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital by the school staff. He was later shifted to a private facility in Hisar, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred around 11 am, reportedly on the school campus. According to preliminary information, the two students attacked the director without warning. Taken by surprise, Pannu was unable to defend himself and was repeatedly stabbed.
After the attack, the accused students fled the scene. The motive behind the gruesome assault remains unclear, as the police have launched a probe and are questioning school staff and fellow students.
Local villagers and parents gathered at the school in large numbers after news of the incident spread, expressing shock and anger over the brutal killing.
Police officials confirmed that the identities of the accused students have been established and efforts are on to trace and apprehend them. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. The tragic incident has sparked concerns over student aggression, campus safety, and the need for preventive counselling in educational institutions.
