In a shocking incident, state-level tennis player Radhika Yadav was allegedly shot dead by her father at their residence in Sushant Lok, Gurugram, on Thursday, police said.
According to initial reports, the accused fired over five bullets at his daughter, resulting in her instant death. The police have detained the father, and a formal investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the act.
A team from Sector 56 police station reached the residence shortly after being alerted and took custody of the body. Forensic teams have also been deployed to collect evidence from the crime scene.
“We are questioning the family members. A probe is underwaydescribed as and the picture will be clear soon,” said Inspector Vinod Kumar, SHO, Sector 56 police station.
Radhika, known for her achievements in state-level tennis tournaments, was an aspiring professional athlete. The tragic incident has stunned the local sports community and raised fresh concerns about mental health and domestic conflicts. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
