Chandigarh:  In a major success under the ongoing Operation Trackdown, the Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF), Gurugram unit, has arrested two notorious members of the Rohit Godara gang, marking another decisive blow to organized crime in the state.

The accused, identified as Naresh Kumar and Sanjay alias Sanjeev, both residents of village Saidpur in Narnaul district, had been absconding for the past 11 months and carried a cash reward of ₹5,000 each on their arrest.

Attack Inside Narnaul Court

According to police, the duo had carried out a murderous attack on December 5, 2024, targeting a rival gang member, Amit, son of Satyapal of Surani village, inside the premises of the Narnaul court. After the incident, they frequently changed locations to evade arrest.

Tracked Through Technical Surveillance

Under the guidance of senior police officials, the STF Gurugram team pursued the fugitives relentlessly through technical and human intelligence inputs. Acting on credible information, the team apprehended both accused on November 9, 2025, following an extensive surveillance operation. They were later handed over to the STF Bahadurgarh unit for further legal action.

Police said Sanjay alias Sanjeev is involved in around ten criminal cases, while Naresh Kumar faces four, including charges of attempt to murder, organized crime, and possession of illegal arms. An FIR (No. 544/2024) stands registered against them at Police Station City Narnaul, under Sections 109(1), 126, 191(2), 191(3), and 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
