DGP Daily X Updates Signal New Policing Culture

By HARISH MANAV/ Thenewsdose.com

Every 24 hours, Haryana DGP O.P. Singh posts a real-time law-and-order assessment on his X handle, often congratulating police personnel for swift action across districts. His latest message—“हरियाणा राज्य पुलिस के हज़ारों कर्मियों एवं सैंकड़ों अधिकारियों को बधाई… अगला लक्ष्य: #अगले_चौबीस_घंटे_शांति”captures the top cop’s intent to enforce a culture of constant alertness. The push comes as Haryana faces criticism over alleged Intelligence lapses that allowed a white-collar terror module to operate from Faridabad and Nuh.

NCR Intelligence to Track Universities, NGOs, Private Firms

To address these shortcomings, the Haryana Police has initiated a comprehensive overhaul of its “outdated” intelligence system in NCR districts. For the first time, surveillance will extend beyond traditional hotspots to include private universities, NGOs, hostels, schools, and even companies in Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonepat, and Jhajjar—areas that form Haryana’s sensitive belt adjoining Delhi.

In a high-level meeting with senior officers from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Police, DGP O.P. Singh announced a more aggressive anti-terror posture built around deeper human Intelligence, targeted analysis and continuous monitoring of vulnerable groups and institutions.

A DSP-rank officer has been appointed to head the expanded Intelligence grid. At the same time, police station security agents and local Intelligence teams have been instructed to expand their field reporting and increase their on-the-ground presence.

“Security Is Like Oxygen”: DGP Calls for Proactive Vigilance

“Security is like oxygen—if it drops even a little, the entire system suffocates,” Singh said, adding that modern criminals and extremists evolve rapidly and often conceal themselves within unsuspecting spaces. “Who could imagine that a major conspiracy would be brewing inside a medical college? Or that doctors would turn into terrorists? Cracking the Faridabad module early prevented far greater harm.”

Stressing that public safety is “a continuous discipline, not an occasional exercise,” he said the new Intelligence structure will keep close tabs on universities, students, vulnerable communities, NGOs and, where needed, private sector institutions. All findings will be routed through the newly designated DSP for coordinated analysis and action.

Interstate Security Grid Activated With Delhi & UP

Explaining the outcomes of the interstate coordination meeting, Singh said senior anti-terror units from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh reviewed shared threats and synchronised Intelligence plans across borders. “When security agencies work together, one plus one becomes eleven. That is the power of coordination,” he remarked. “Our aim is simple—terrorists must not find space to plan, move or operate. We intend to choke their ecosystem before it forms.”  With daily law-and-order dashboards, sharper surveillance protocols, and a reinvigorated Intelligence-first approach, the Haryana Police appears determined to ensure that another covert module does not emerge within the NCR’s booming educational and institutional landscape.
