Leaders Participate in Bhog Ceremony Marking 350th Martyrdom Anniversary.
Anandpur Sahib: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday joined the sangat at Sri Anandpur Sahib to participate in the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, held to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and the legendary Sikh martyrs — Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Dass Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji. The ceremony, held at Gurdwara Baba Budha Dal Chauni, drew a large congregation of devotees from across Punjab and neighbouring states.
Both leaders offered Ardas for the progress of Punjab and the prosperity of its people, calling it a privilege to serve during the historic commemorative events. They expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to attend an occasion marking one of the most significant sacrifices in human history.
“Sikhism Is a Beacon of Equality and Courage”
Addressing the sangat, Mann and Kejriwal highlighted that Sikhism presents the world with an accurate model of socialism, equality, and secularism. They said Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji stands as a global lighthouse guiding humanity towards universal brotherhood and justice.
They added that Punjabis, especially Sikhs, have inherited a proud legacy of courage, sacrifice, and resistance against tyranny — values instilled by the Sikh Gurus. The teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, they said, remain profoundly relevant in contemporary times.
State Government Committed to Preserving Sikh Heritage
The leaders emphasised that it is the government’s duty to preserve Punjab’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage for future generations. They said people across the world had hoped that the 350th martyrdom anniversary would be observed with the grandeur befitting Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s unparalleled sacrifice.
Mann and Kejriwal said the Punjab government has made sincere and humble efforts to ensure the commemorative events become a historic and unforgettable moment for devotees. They added that both the government and the people of Punjab feel “deeply blessed” to be part of this sacred and monumental occasion.
