Last year Google surprised smartphone enthusiasts in India by not launching the Pixel 4 in India and Google has confirmed that it will not launch the 2020 flagship Pixel 5 in India as well. Google will also not launch the 5G variant of Pixel 4a in India too. Google has globally announced three new Pixel phones for 2020– Pixel 5, Pixel 4a and Pixel 4a 5G. Out of these only the Pixel 4a will be available in the US in August.
As far as India is concerned, the Pixel 4a will make it to India by October and Google will reveal the price closer to the launch. The Pixel 4a comes at a starting price of $349 which translates to around Rs 26,250 in India. Having said that it is expected that the Pixel 4a will be priced at around Rs 35,000 in India and will be exclusively available on Flipkart.
There will be only one variant of the Pixel 4a–6GB of RAM and 128GB storage and will only come in ‘Just Black’ colour option. The Pixel 4a is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor with Titan M security module for on-device security. The device features a 3140 mAh battery. Google is offering an 18W fast charger out-of-the-box.The Pixel 4a is a single SIM phone with support for eSIM. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack along with USB Type-C port.
Meanwhile,Google launched the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL in India at a price of Rs 39,999 and Rs 44,999 respectively with mid-range specifications. However, festive sales on Flipkart offered the Pixel 3a smartphones at a flat discount of Rs 10,000, which brought down the price to just Rs 29,999.
