New Delhi: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Saturday said a forensic science laboratory (FSL) report has concluded that the video clip related to alleged remarks by Leader of Opposition Atishi was original and had not been tampered with, sharpening the political standoff between the BJP in Delhi and the AAP-ruled governments in Delhi and Punjab.
Addressing a press conference, Gupta said the clip was sent for forensic examination on January 8 at the opposition AAP’s demand. “The report clearly states that the alleged remark attributed to Atishi matches the video frame by frame and that there is no tampering involved,” he said.
Earlier, the Delhi Assembly, after the Punjab Police, demanded replies from top police officers in the state over the use and circulation of an alleged “doctored” video clip of Atishi, citing a breach of privilege. The Delhi assembly speaker said the recent court order in Jalandhar was interim in nature. The court has directed the removal of the video clip that the Punjab Police claims is “doctored”.
