Internet search giant Google has added a new feature to its Photos app called Cinematic photos. Along with this, the company is also adding new collage designs and new features that highlight activities.
Talking about the Cinematic photos feature first, this feature is said to make images more vivid and realistic. “To do this, we use machine learning to predict an image’s depth and produce a 3D representation of the scene—even if the original image doesn’t include depth information from the camera,” said Google in a blog post.
After this, Google says that it will animate a virtual camera for a smooth panning effect. The app will create Cinematic photos for its users on its own and will show them in their recent highlights at the top of their photo grid. The Photos app will also give its users the option to share a Cinematic photo with others.
This feature will be rolled out to the users of Google Photos app over the next month with an OTA update.
Apart from this feature, the Google Photos app is set to get support for new collage designs. The new designs are said to be artistically designed and stylized using AI. “This helps pick the right layout for a selection of photos by finding similar colors and using those to accent details like the font and background color for a more cohesive look,” said Google.
Lastly, Google is also set to add new themes to Memories in Google Photos app featuring people, things and activities.
