Extension Granted After Requests From State CEOs
New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday extended the timeline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in six states and Union territories, following requests from their respective chief electoral officers.
The extension aims to ensure comprehensive enumeration and inclusion of all eligible voters.
Revised SIR Schedule for Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, MP, Chhattisgarh, A&N Islands, and UP
According to the EC statement, the enumeration period—originally scheduled to end on Thursday—has now been extended as follows:
• Tamil Nadu & Gujarat

Enumeration extended till December 14

Draft rolls to be published on December 19
• Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Enumeration extended till December 18

Draft rolls to be published on December 23
• Uttar Pradesh

Enumeration extended till December 26

Draft rolls to be published on December 31
Other States to Follow Original Schedule
For Goa, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, the enumeration period will close on Thursday, with draft electoral rolls scheduled for publication on December 16.

EC Pushes for Maximum Inclusion of New Voters
The Election Commission reiterated its commitment to ensuring that no eligible elector is left out of the revised rolls. It encouraged first-time voters and those yet to register to submit Form 6 through:

The final electoral rolls are slated for publication in February 2025.
