Chandigarh: Veteran Punjabi singer Gurdas Mann visited the ancestral house of slain singer Sidhu Moosewala in Mansa on Sunday morning and met members of the late artist’s family.
During the visit, Mann interacted with Moosewala’s younger brother, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu. In a heartwarming moment, the young boy touched Mann’s feet and sought his blessings, drawing an emotional response from those present.
In a video from the visit, Mann can be heard saying that the child bears a striking resemblance to his late brother and reflects his spirit. The veteran singer also paid his respects to Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur, and greeted a life-size photograph of the late singer displayed inside the house.
Mann had been in Mansa on Saturday evening to attend a private function, where he recited a poem dedicated to Moosewala and announced that he would visit the singer’s family the following morning.
Moosewala’s parents — Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur — had welcomed a baby boy in March 2024, nearly two years after the singer was killed in a shocking attack that sent waves of grief across Punjab and the global Punjabi music community. Mann had also visited the family at that time and described the occasion as “a significant day filled with joy,” marking a moment of hope for the grieving family following the tragic loss of their son.
