Chandigarh: In a unique outreach initiative aimed at connecting with school leaders and empowering young minds, Haryana Police will host an interactive and cultural evening titled “One Evening, #GenAlpha’s Name” at the Dial 112 headquarters in Panchkula today at 7 PM.
Hundreds of head boys and head girls from schools across Panchkula will participate in the programme, accompanied by their principals and parents. The event aims to make student leaders partners in the state’s campaigns for drug-free campuses, cyber safety, and safe school environments.
As part of the engagement, the students will gain a firsthand experience of the emergency helpline 112 and the national cybercrime helpline 1930, learning how these systems respond to distress calls and protect citizens.

Renowned vocalists Pandit Ritesh Mishra and Pandit Rajnish Mishra, exponents of the Banaras Gharana, will perform to inspire young audiences with the richness of India’s musical heritage.
The event is part of Haryana Police’s broader initiative to provide a platform for “Gen Alpha” — the youngest generation growing up in the digital era — to connect with law enforcement as partners in progress.
Olympians-turned-police officers, recruited through the sports quota, will share their journeys and motivate the students. In contrast, newly inducted IPS officers will interact with them about discipline, focus, and leadership.
Sharing the announcement on his official X handle, Director General of Police (DGP) O.P. Singh wrote: “An evening dedicated to #GenAlpha — our future leaders. The Haryana Police opens its doors to young minds, allowing them to experience how technology, discipline, and compassion power the 112 emergency response system. Together, we build safer schools and a secure tomorrow.”
“This is not just an event, but an effort to build a bridge between Gen Alpha and the police — where awareness, empathy, and partnership come together,” said an officer associated with the programme.
The evening promises to blend learning with inspiration, reinforcing the message that youth and police can work together to create a safer, stronger, and more aware society.
