136 Criminals, Including 5 Notorious Offenders, Arrested in 24-Hour Statewide Crackdown
Chandigarh: In a sweeping offensive against crime, the Haryana Police on Sunday launched ‘Operation Hotspot Domination’, a statewide campaign aimed at reclaiming crime-prone zones and choking the operational space of criminals. The operation focuses on areas where anti-social elements are known to operate, with the clear objective of establishing complete police dominance and restoring public confidence.
On the very first day, police units intensified combing operations, morning and evening patrols, strategic illumination of dark stretches, and joint monitoring with civil administration in sensitive rural and urban pockets. Senior officers are personally supervising deployments to ensure zero tolerance in identified hotspots.

The impact of the operation was immediately visible on the ground, with 136 criminals, including five notorious offenders, arrested across the state. Faridabad emerged as the top-performing district, with police arresting 25 criminals and sending them to jail. Coordinated raids and targeted surveillance were conducted across multiple districts. During the search operations, police also recovered one pistol, one rifle, two magazines and 37 live cartridges. These recoveries are being seen as critical in averting potential violent crimes.

Telegram ‘Review Task’ Scam
In another case, Waseem Khan (20) from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for supplying bank accounts to cyber fraudsters running Telegram-based task scams. He is accused of cheating a victim of ₹1.58 lakh and has been sent on a three-day police remand for further interrogation.
Sirsa Police Major Breakthrough
In one of the most significant developments of the operation, the Sirsa Police arrested Lakhvir Singh alias Lucky, a wanted criminal carrying a bounty of ₹5,000, who was wanted in a sensational kidnapping and murder case.
The accused had kidnapped Gurpreet alias Guri from Sirsa, brutally assaulted him in a field, and later took him to Rawatsar in Rajasthan, where he was strangled with a rope. The body was then tied with stones and dumped into the Raj Canal to destroy evidence.
Earlier, 12 accused had already been arrested after Sirsa Police uncovered the entire conspiracy through technical surveillance and human intelligence. Lakhvir had been repeatedly changing hideouts across Rajasthan, Punjab and Delhi to evade arrest.
The CIA Ellenabad team finally tracked and arrested him, and during preliminary interrogation, the accused. He is currently on police remand, and special teams have been formed to track down the remaining absconding associates.
Statewide Warning Issued to Criminal Networks
Senior police officials stated that ‘Operation Hotspot Domination’ will continue relentlessly in the coming days, with intensified surveillance, surprise checkpoints, interstate coordination, and zero-tolerance enforcement. The message from Haryana Police is loud and clear: Crime hotspots will no longer be safe havens. Criminals will be hunted, arrested, and prosecuted without delay.
