Off-Duty Air India Express Pilot Arrested for Assault at Delhi Airport

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested an off-duty Air India Express pilot for allegedly assaulting a passenger at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, an official said on Tuesday.

The accused, Captain Virendra Sejwal, was taken into custody after investigators reviewed CCTV footage and recorded statements related to the incident, which occurred near the security checkpoint at Terminal 1 on December 19.

“Following the registration of the case, relevant CCTV footage was collected, and witness statements were recorded. The accused was summoned for questioning and subsequently arrested,” a police officer said in a statement.

Sejwal has been booked under Sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 126 (wrongful restraint), and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
