New Delhi: Argentine football icon Lionel Messi will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Justice of India, and the Army Chief during the Delhi leg of his India tour on Monday, capping a high-profile final day of the GOAT India Tour.

After visiting the Prime Minister’s official residence, Messi will call on the Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi at the residence of a Member of Parliament, sources said. The MP is understood to be Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel, a former three-term president of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

High-Level Interactions Across Institutions

Messi is scheduled to arrive in the national capital at 10.45 am. Following a 50-minute meet-and-greet at a city hotel, he will head to the Prime Minister’s residence, where he will spend around 20 minutes interacting with Modi.

From there, Messi will proceed to the MP’s residence, where he will also meet Argentina’s Ambassador to India, Mariano Agustin Caucino. Senior officials, including Enforcement Directorate Director Rahul Navin and other top government functionaries, are also expected to be present at the gathering.

Grand Finale at Ferozshah Kotla Stadium

After the high-level meetings, Messi’s convoy will move to the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium, where a series of events has been planned. At 3.30 pm, the football legend will enter the stadium via the pitch walkway, following which his vehicles will be positioned for a direct departure to the airport once the programme concludes.

Messi will receive a musical welcome before heading to a smaller football field, where Indian celebrities will be engaged in a friendly match. He will greet the players and pose for group photographs with the teams.

Football Clinic and Cricketing Exchange

A football clinic for 22 children will be held between 3.55 pm and 4.15 pm, offering young players a rare opportunity to interact with the global football icon.

The programme will culminate at the centre of the field, where two Indian cricketers will present gifts to Messi. In return, the Argentine star will hand over two pre-signed jerseys to the cricketers, marking a symbolic exchange between football and cricket. Messi’s Delhi visit brings his India tour to a close, blending sport, diplomacy and celebrity engagement in a tightly choreographed schedule.
