Dreaded Gangsters, Rewarded Offenders Among Those Arrested

Chandigarh: Haryana Police’s statewide crackdown under Operation Trackdown has delivered one of the most considerable law-enforcement successes in recent years, with 6,011 criminals arrested since the campaign launched on November 5. The detained include 1,735 dreaded criminals and 4,276 other accused, establishing the operation as a decisive blow to organised crime networks across the state.

The campaign gained further momentum on November 27, when police teams across districts arrested 79 dreaded criminals and 297 other accused in a single day, underlining the intensity and effectiveness of the ongoing mission. Senior officials said the relentless action has created fear among criminals while significantly boosting public confidence in police functioning.

Fatehabad: Habitual Arms Offender Arrested

In a major district-level breakthrough, the CIA team of Fatehabad arrested Rohit alias Roni, a notorious repeat offender, with illegal weapons. Acting on a tip-off during patrol, police recovered a .32 bore pistol and one live cartridge from his possession. Rohit is facing over 12 severe criminal cases under the Arms Act, IPC sections, Gambling Act and Prison Act, indicating his deep involvement in organised crime. Police officials said the arrest has disrupted a major local criminal network.

STF Gurugram Nabs ₹5,000 Rewarded Fugitive After 23 Years

The STF unit in Gurugram also chalked up a significant success, arresting Mukesh Kumar, a criminal carrying a ₹5,000 reward, from Rohtak. He was absconding in a serious criminal case registered in 2002. After the reward was declared, the STF tracked him through technical surveillance and secret inputs before arresting and handing him over to Shahbad Police Station. Officials termed the arrest a major psychological setback for long-absconding offenders.

Kurukshetra: Wanted Chain-Snatcher with 24 Cases Arrested

Kurukshetra’s CIA-1 team arrested Ravi alias Jojo on a production warrant in a high-profile gold chain snatching case involving a woman. The July 2025 incident had triggered panic in the area. Ravi has a staggering criminal record of around 24 cases, including offences related to snatching, robbery, rape, theft, and illegal weapons. He was produced in court and remanded to judicial custody.

Gurugram: Six Criminals Arrested With Illegal Firearms in a Single Day

In one of the most aggressive operations in the district, Gurugram Police arrested six accused in a single day and recovered five pistols/country-made firearms and one live cartridge. The accused — Salim, Sonu alias Blender, Sujit, Rahul alias Abhay Joshi, Sahil and Ahsan Rana — are involved in murder, robbery, theft and Arms Act violations. Police said this operation neutralised multiple active criminal threats in the region.

Sirsa: Two ₹5,000 Rewarded Criminals Wanted for Murder and Robbery Caught

Sirsa Police arrested two dangerous criminals — Joginder Singh alias Gindi and Harminder Singh alias Happy, both carrying rewards of ₹5,000. They were wanted in multiple cases of murder and armed robberies across several districts. Their arrest has delivered a devastating blow to their criminal syndicate.

Kaithal: Known Offender with Nine Cases Arrested With a Pistol

Kaithal Police’s Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff arrested Vijay alias Bhoot with a country-made pistol. He already faces nine criminal cases, including attempt to murder, rioting, Excise Act violations and Arms Act offences. Police officials said his arrest sends out a strong deterrent message against illegal weapons.

Rewari: Murder Accused Arrested Within Hours

In a swift action reflecting heightened operational readiness, Rewari Police arrested Ashok alias Baddu, accused of firing and committing murder, within a few hours of the crime. Police recovered the country-made pistol used in the murder and three live cartridges. The accused has 12 previous cases, including those under the NDPS Act, Arms Act, murder and rioting. He is currently on a two-day police remand for interrogation.

Senior Haryana Police officials stated that Operation Trackdown is being run in full mission mode to dismantle organised crime, habitual offenders and gangster networks across districts. The consistent daily arrests, seizure of weapons and detention of hardened criminals have not only broken several active crime links but also sent out a clear message that there is no haven for criminals in Haryana.
