Sony has launched Alpha 7S full-frame mirrorless camera series in India. The company has unveiled the Alpha 7S III (model ILCE-7SM3) with 12.1MP image sensor. The new Alpha 7S III camera is priced at Rs 3,34,990 and will be available on all Sony Center along with major electronics stores across the country from October 15.
The company has also introduced CEA-G80T and CEA-G160T memory cards at Rs 21,100 and Rs 40,990, respectively.
Sony Alpha 7S III is equipped with a BIONZ XR image processor. It comes with a 35mm full-frame 12.1MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor which is said to reduce rolling shutter by up to three times. The camera boasts of video recording capabilities like 4K 120pixel with 10 bit 4:2:2 colour depth, all-intra recording and XAVC HS format with H.265 codec.
The new Alpha 7S III allows up to 4K 60pixel 16-bit RAW output to an external recorder via HDMI Type-A connector. The camera boasts of features like real-time tracking and real-time eye AF. The Alpha 7S III also includes a fast Hybrid AF system with 759 phase-detection AF points covering 92% of the image sensor.
The camera supports Active Mode with 5-axis optical in-body image stabilization to support especially difficult handheld movie shooting. It features a side-opening vari-angle rear screen and two CFexpress Type A compatible media slots with UHS-I and UHS-II SDXC/SDHC cards support.
The CFexpress Type A/SD card reader provides SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 2) transfer speed. When combined with a CFexpress Type A card, it allows users to transfer data approximately 2.8 times faster than with conventional media. The MRW-G2 card reader, priced at Rs 13,700, can be used with CFexpress Type A and SDXC/SDHC memory cards.
