Senior Secretariat Official Dies on the Spot After a Fall

Chandigarh:In a shocking incident, Ganesh Arora, Special Senior Secretary to IAS officer Hitesh Meena, died after allegedly jumping from the seventh floor of the Haryana Civil Secretariat building in Chandigarh on Wednesday afternoon.
According to officials and eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 12:30 pm, when Arora reportedly went to the Secretariat’s terrace and jumped. He died on the spot due to the severe impact of the fall.
Eyewitnesses Say He Left Office Suddenly Before the Incident
Eyewitnesses said Arora had been present in his office earlier in the day and appeared normal. However, he suddenly left his workplace without informing his colleagues beforehand.
The circumstances leading to the incident are not yet clear, and authorities have begun an investigation to ascertain the exact cause and sequence of events.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and secured the area.
Body Sent for Post-Mortem, Probe Underway
The body has been shifted to the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death.
Officials said further investigation is underway, and statements of staff and witnesses are being recorded. Authorities are also examining possible personal or professional factors that may have contributed to the incident.
The sudden death of a senior Secretariat staff member has sent shockwaves through the Haryana Civil Secretariat, with colleagues expressing grief and disbelief over the tragic incident.
