Pakistan’s troop movements signal offensive intent, India responds with precision strikes and heightened readiness

India has raised concerns over Pakistan’s military mobilisation, which it says is an attempt to escalate tensions along the border. In a joint briefing by the Ministry of Defence and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi confirmed that the Indian armed forces are in a “high state of operational readiness” and have effectively countered all hostile actions.
Pakistan’s recent troop movements into forward areas suggest an offensive intent, according to the Indian military. Despite this, India has reaffirmed its commitment to non-escalation, provided Pakistan reciprocates.
As part of Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, India carried out precise strikes targeting military infrastructure in Pakistan, including radar sites, command centres, and weapon storage areas. Wing Commander Singh stated that the strikes were “calibrated and focused solely on military targets.”
Pakistan, in turn, has escalated its attacks along the western border, deploying drones, long-range missiles, and fighter jets. These assaults have targeted Indian military sites, including air bases in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, and Bathinda. Colonel Qureshi confirmed that while India successfully neutralised several threats, some damage occurred to equipment at air force bases.
Pakistan’s Misinformation Campaign
India also dismissed Pakistan’s false claims about the destruction of its S-400 system and airfields, categorically rejecting the disinformation as part of Pakistan’s ongoing malicious campaign.
India’s message remains clear: While prepared for all contingencies, the country seeks peace and stability, with escalation entirely contingent on Pakistan’s actions.
