Amid reports that India deployed the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile for the first time against terror targets in Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday called it a bold signal of the country’s military strength and strategic deterrence.

Speaking via video link at the inauguration of a BrahMos inspection facility in Lucknow, Singh called the missile system a symbol of India’s resolve.“BrahMos is a message of strength from our armed forces. It’s a warning to those who think they can hurt India and escape,” Singh said.

Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed, Singh said the Indian armed forces avenged the bloodshed through Operation Sindoor, striking deep into Pakistan without targeting civilians.“Our retaliation was precise and restrained. While Pakistan targeted civilians and even places of worship, we hit only military infrastructure. Yet, our message was loud — even Rawa Emphasised that the new infrastructure will further strengthen India’s indigenous defence production and capabilities emphasised that the new infrastructure will further bolster India’s indigenous defense production and capability.

He reiterated that Operation Sindoor was not just a military move but a reflection of India’s political, social, and strategic willpower.“Terrorists and their backers must understand — they will not be safe, even across the border,” Singh warned.
