Ludhiana: An FIR has been registered at the Sarabha Nagar police station against Hero Realty Private Limited director Sunil Kant Munjal and sales head Nikhil Jain over allegations of fraud and serious irregularities in the company’s Hero Homes residential project in the city.
The complaint was filed by Falitash Jain, a resident of New Madhopuri, who alleged that he had purchased four flats in the Hero Homes project and had paid a total of ₹2.41 crore to Hero Realty at its office located in Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi.
According to the FIR, despite receiving the full payment, the company allegedly failed to complete the construction of the promised flats. Falitash has accused the firm of defrauding him through a criminal conspiracy, stating that he repeatedly followed up on the matter but received no resolution.
The complainant told the police that he approached senior officials in the Ludhiana Police Commissionerate, after which a preliminary inquiry was conducted. Based on the findings of that inquiry, the police registered a case against the two company officials.
A case has been booked under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. Police officials said that a detailed investigation is underway, and further action will be taken once evidence is collected and statements are recorded.
