Chandigarh: Taking a strict stance against alleged objectionable content on social media and in music videos, the Haryana Police have registered a case against singer-rapper Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, popularly known as Badshah, over his recently released song “Tateeree.”

Police officials said an FIR has been registered and the process to issue a Lookout Circular (LOC) against the singer has been initiated to prevent him from leaving the country. Notices have also been issued directing the removal of the controversial video from social media platforms.

The case has been registered at the Cyber Police Station in Sector 20 Panchkula under FIR No. 28 dated March 6, 2026. The charges include Section 296 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

According to the police, the video allegedly depicts minor girls in school uniforms throwing their school bags and running away from studies, which officials said portrays the school environment in a negative light. Investigators also flagged the use of certain words in the song, including “badshala,” which they claim misrepresents the education system.

Police further alleged that the song contains objectionable and indecent language directed towards women and girls, which prompted the legal action.

During the course of the investigation, police also found that the video features a Haryana Roadways bus from the Jind depot. Authorities are examining whether proper permission was obtained from the transport department for the use of the bus during filming. If it is found that the bus was used without official approval, police said action could be taken against those involved for criminal conspiracy and other violations.

In addition, scenes in the video appear to have been shot on the campus of a government school. Officials said they are verifying whether the production team had obtained permission from the competent authority to shoot at the location. If the campus was used without authorisation, action will be taken against the individuals responsible as per applicable rules.

Police have issued a formal notice to Badshah directing him to appear before investigators. Several teams have been formed to trace his whereabouts and conduct raids at possible locations to ensure his presence in the investigation.

Considering the possibility that the singer could travel abroad, authorities have initiated the process to issue a Lookout Circular, which would alert immigration authorities and prevent him from leaving the country without informing the investigating agency.

The controversial video has already been removed from the singer’s official YouTube channel, police said. Efforts are also underway to remove related reels, short videos and clips from other music platforms, YouTube channels and personal social media handles.

Police further warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who continues to create or circulate reels or videos containing the disputed song on social media platforms, stating that such content may attract legal action under relevant provisions of law.
