Haryana Govt Transfers 17 IPS Officers, Reshuffles Senior Police Administration

CHANDIGARH: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Haryana government on Monday transferred 17 IPS officers and two Haryana Police Services (HPS) officers with immediate effect, bringing significant changes across key police and vigilance positions in the state.

The reshuffle includes appointments in crucial departments such as vigilance, crime branch, Gurugram police, narcotics control, armed police and training institutions.

Major changes at the senior level

Senior IPS officer Charu Bali of the 1995 batch has been posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) at the Bhondsi Police Complex, Gurugram.

Another senior officer of the 1996 batch, Mamta Ravi Kiran, has been appointed ADGP of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB).

IPS officer KK Rao, also from the 1996 batch, has been transferred as ADGP, Recruit Training Centre (RTC), Bhondsi, Gurugram.

The 1998-batch IPS officer Vikas Arora has been posted as ADGP, Administration, at the Police Headquarters.

New Police Commissioner for Gurugram

In one of the most significant appointments, 1999-batch IPS officer Sibash Kabiraj has been appointed the new Commissioner of Police, Gurugram. He replaces Vikas Arora in the post and will now head policing in one of Haryana’s most sensitive and rapidly expanding urban centres.

Crime Branch and Range-level appointments

The 2003-batch IPS officer Rakesh Kumar Arya has been posted as Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Crime Branch.

Among the 2006-batch officers, Ashok Kumar will now serve as IGP, Karnal Range, while Om Prakash has been given charge of IGP, South Range. The 2007-batch IPS officer Naazneen Bhasin has been appointed IGP, Haryana Armed Police (HAP), Madhuban, Karnal. She will also hold an additional charge as IGP, RTC Bhondsi, Gurugram. Another 2007-batch officer, Kuldeep Singh, has been posted as IGP, Hisar Range.

DIG-level reshuffle

The 2008-batch IPS officer Hamid Akhtar will assume charge as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Haryana Armed Police, Madhuban. IPS officer Surinder Pal Singh of the 2010 batch has been posted as DIG, Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Among the 2011-batch officers, Rajender Kumar Meena has been assigned the charge of DIG, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB), at Sonipat, in addition to his existing responsibilities.

Another 2011-batch IPS officer, Manbir Singh, has also been appointed DIG, HSNCB.

The 2012-batch officer, Sunil Kumar, will now handle dual responsibilities as DIG, State Crime Branch (SCB), and as DIG, HSNCB.

STF and vigilance postings

The 2014-batch IPS officer Surinder Singh Bhoria has been appointed Superintendent of Police (SP), Special Task Force (STF), Panchkula, in addition to serving as SP, Commando, Newal, Karnal. IPS officer Aditi Singh will now serve as SP, SV&ACB, Gurugram.

HPS officers also transferred

Among Haryana Police Services officers, Siddharth Dhanda has been assigned charge as SP, State Crime Branch. Officer Poonam will also serve as SP, State Crime Branch, while Pooja Dabla has been posted as SP, Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).

Administrative significance

The reshuffle is being viewed as an important administrative exercise aimed at strengthening policing, vigilance operations and crime control mechanisms across Haryana.

The changes assume significance particularly in districts like Gurugram, Panchkula and Sonipat, which continue to face challenges related to cybercrime, organised crime, narcotics and rapid urban expansion. Officials said all transfers and postings have taken effect immediately.
