Chandigarh, June 12: Kanchan Kumari, a popular social media influencer known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was found dead under mysterious circumstances late Wednesday night in a parked car near Adesh University at Bhucho Kalan, along the Bathinda–Chandigarh highway.

The Ludhiana-based influencer, believed to be in her mid-30s, had a following of over 3.83 lakh on Instagram. Her body was discovered after locals alerted authorities to a foul smell coming from a parked vehicle. On inspection, police found her lifeless body inside the car.

Bathinda SP (City) Narinder Singh confirmed that preliminary investigation points to murder. “Prima facie, it appears someone abandoned the car here after committing the crime. The post-mortem report will shed more light,” he said. The vehicle bore suspected fake registration plates, and police are verifying details with transport authorities.

CCTV footage from the surrounding area is also being reviewed. Notably, in October last year, Kanchan had allegedly received threats from Canada-based designated terrorist Arsh Dalla, who had asked her to stop posting “inappropriate” content. Police are pursuing multiple angles in the case.
