Victim in Early 30s, Throat Slit in Brutal Attack

Though the identity of the victim is yet to be established, police sources said the woman appeared to be around 30 to 31 years old. Preliminary examination revealed a deep, sharp-edged wound on her neck, indicating a brutal stabbing. The body was found lying in a pool of blood inside the toilet cubicle, pointing to a violent struggle.

The body has been sent to the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH-16) for post-mortem examination, which is expected to provide crucial clues about the exact cause and timing of death.

CCTV Footage Being Scanned, All Angles Under Probe

Police officials said they are investigating the case from multiple angles, including:

  • Murder following robbery

  • Sexual assault

  • Personal rivalry or enmity

  • Targeted killing

Investigators are now retrieving and scanning CCTV footage from in and around the Rose Garden to trace the movement of the victim and identify any suspicious persons seen entering or exiting the area. “A detailed forensic examination is underway. We are examining all possible leads and no theory has been ruled out at this stage,” a senior police officer said.

Public Shocked, Security Lapses Under Question

The incident has triggered panic and outrage among regular visitors to the Rose Garden, many of whom expressed serious concerns over the lack of security, poor lighting, and inadequate surveillance in public parks. “This is one of the most crowded gardens in the city. If such a crime can happen here in broad daylight, it means nobody is safe,” said a morning walker. Police have assured that additional patrolling and security measures will be strengthened in the area as the investigation progresses.
