BMW Group India has reported its highest-ever half-yearly (H1) car deliveries, achieving 7,774 unit sales of BMW and MINI cars between January and June 2025, marking a robust 10% growth over the same period last year. This performance was complemented by the delivery of 2,569 BMW Motorrad motorcycles, underscoring the company’s continued dominance in the Indian luxury automotive space.
Each month of Q2 (April–June) posted best-ever monthly sales, further solidifying BMW Group’s momentum in 2025.
EV Leadership: BMW Retains No.1 Spot in India’s Luxury Electric Segment
BMW Group India continues to lead the luxury electric vehicle (EV) market in the country, with a spectacular 234% growth in EV sales during H1 2025. The Group sold 1,322 electric vehicles (BMW and MINI combined), pushing EVs to 18% of its total car sales.
The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase emerged as the top-selling EV, followed by the flagship BMW i7, reflecting growing customer confidence in premium e-mobility. BMW’s EV portfolio now includes six electric cars and two e-scooters, supported by initiatives like BMW Destination Charging, Smart E-Routing, and access to 24×7 fast-charging dealership infrastructure.
Long Wheelbase Models See Soaring Demand, 47% Share in Sales
Long wheelbase variants such as the BMW 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, and iX1 witnessed a massive 159% growth in H1 2025 and now contribute 47% to total sales. The BMW 5 Series was the top-selling sedan for the brand, accounting for nearly 20% of its overall car sales, while the 3 Series maintained its lead in the premium executive segment.
Luxury Class and SAVs Bolster Market Presence
BMW’s ultra-premium Luxury Class models—BMW 7 Series, i7, X7, and XM—continue to command strong aspirational value. The BMW X7 alone has surpassed 5,000 cumulative deliveries since launch. The Luxury Class segment reinforces BMW’s positioning at the pinnacle of automotive craftsmanship and innovation in India.
The Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) range registered a 17% growth, with its share in total sales rising from 56% in Q1 to 59% in Q2. The BMW X1 was the highest-selling SAV across the luxury compact segment, contributing over 30% to BMW’s car sales in H1 2025. The BMW X5 followed closely in terms of popularity.
MINI Posts Strong Growth, Countryman E Gains Ground
MINI India sold 297 units in H1 2025. The MINI Cooper S led the charts with over 60% growth, while the MINI Countryman E gained traction in the electric category. Both models held nearly equal share in MINI’s H1 sales.
BMW Motorrad Accelerates with 2,569 Deliveries
BMW Motorrad maintained its strong performance, delivering 2,569 motorcycles in the first half of 2025. The G 310 RR led sales in the entry-level performance segment. In the adventure and super-sport categories, the BMW 900 GS / GSA, 1300 GS / GSA, and the S 1000 RR continued to be best-sellers.
Retail.NEXT and Smart Finance Driving Customer Experience and Accessibility
BMW Group India’s future-facing Retail.NEXT concept is reshaping the luxury retail experience with immersive showrooms, digital tools, and customer-first processes. With a total investment of INR 365.6 crore, the initiative is being rolled out across 56 facilities in 33 cities.
Simultaneously, BMW India Financial Services is playing a pivotal role in enabling customer acquisition and retention through BMW Smart Finance. With offerings like low monthly EMIs, assured buy-back, flexible upgrade options, and attractive leasing models, the brand is making luxury ownership more accessible and convenient.
